Two spellbinding concerts glued together with local honey

CONCERT 1: 4 PM CALDER QUARTET

BoticelloThe Calder Quartet 4 pm Seamlessly weaving the old and the Calder Quartetnew, this Los Angeles based string quartet is fluent with composers from Beethoven to Terry Riley. The Calders will perform Christine Southworth's Honey Flyers with Ensemble Robot's Bot(i)Cello, Tristan Perich's Interface with 4-channel 1-bit electronics, plus Beethoven's Op. 59 No. 1, and Ben Johnston's Amazing Grace. Sponsored by MIT Music & Theater Arts.

INTERMISSION Local Honey Tasting / Reception 6 pm Sample honey and other products from local beekeepers and restaurants.

CONCERT 2: 8 PM GUTBUCKET: Johnny the Giant Killer

GutbucketGutbucket 8 pm Gutbucket will blow your mind performing original music with the first full-length animated French film "Johnny the Giant Killer," a briliant cartoon about Johnny and his friends in a bee hive.

Iva BittovaIva Bittova 8 pm Legendary Czech composer and vocalist Iva Bittova performs trios with clarinetist Evan Ziporyn and bassist Robert Black. The concert will be followed by a reception.

CONCERT 5: 8 PM ENSEMBLE ROBOT + THE LOUD OBJECTS

Ensemble RobotEnsemble Robot + Loud Objects 8 pm WORLD PREMIERES of Concert Aria for Obbligato Violin and Robots by computer music pioneer Paul Lansky and Jenny Olivia Johnson's Highway Mass. Plus completely new works by Ensemble Robot and Loud Objects composers for robots and live soldering - who knows what will happen!?! The concert will be followed by a reception.
